The Ludlow, KY, Knights of Columbus sponsored a pancake and sausage breakfast on Sunday, February 19, 2012. This breakfast marks the tenth year the Knights have conducted this fundraiser which supports the Sisters of Notre Dame Uganda mission.
Several of the Knights stepped forward to put down their swords and take up spatulas to become cooks for the morning. Even Notre Dame Academy students stepped forward to assist with the breakfast; carrying trays and clearing tables.
As one walked through the dining area it was wonderful to see many families with young children enjoying breakfast together, a 1933 NDA graduate and her husband (1931 grad of Covington Catholic) reminiscing about their high school years, and even a group of young adults reading the Sunday paper as they enjoyed their breakfast.
The Sisters of Notre Dame wish to express our sincere appreciation and a note of gratitude to the Knights of Columbus and NDA students for their hard work and dedication in making this fundraiser so successful. A total of $2082 was raised which will help fund the education for children and women in our Uganda schools.
