The Mission in Uganda, East Africa

Service Commitment

While serving in Uganda, volunteers must consider they will be living in an international community with other volunteers.  Life in this setting requires openness to a variety of expressions of faith, of cultural customs, and of socially acceptable norms of behavior.  Volunteer must agree and understand the service commitment of the Notre Dame International Volunteer Program.  The NDIV Program assumes no responsibility to care for or provide for the volunteer beyond the actual time of service at the Uganda location.  Volunteers must accept any health and physical risks involved in the Uganda Mission placement, and will not hold responsible the NDIV Program or any of its components for any adverse effect resulting from the volunteer experience.   It is the responsibility of the volunteer to assure resources will be available for resettlement in the United States at whatever time the assignment ends.
